Pan American games in Peru were connected by Nexans LAN Systems!

The multi-sport event was held in Lima between July 26 and August 11

With athletes coming from 41 countries, competing in 58 sports, a million tickets sold and worldwide attention, between July 26 and August 11, all eyes were on Lima, Peru, where the 2019 Pan American and Parapan American games were held.

Nexans was part of this remarkable moment in Peru’s and America’s history by contributing to the development of the National Sports Village, the Pan American Village and Las Palmas Air base, through its high-performance data infrastructure solution. Nexans armored mono-mode 12 optical fiber and CAT6A F/UTP solution, which allowed the operation of all automation systems of those infrastructures, which are fundamental for entrance control, fire alarms, as well as providing images, videos and sounds to viewers.

As a major event for all American countries, the need for extensive infrastructures has been an important focus for the customer, with practical and financial challenges, which Nexans has helped to achieve. Paolo Guerrero, Peru’s football team captain, couldn’t have said it better: “The Games are also a great opportunity to build modern sporting infrastructure that will be left as a legacy for all of Peru”.

This was a very unique project for Nexans worldwide, and counted on peruvian sales, technical and operational teams, supported by a regional committee, engaged on producing the cables, delivering it and providing the best service during all the partnership process.
