Nexans awarded Ormen Lange dredging services contract worth 24 million euros
Paris, April 1, 2004 - Nexans, the worldwide leader in the cable industry, was today awarded a dredging services contract worth 24 million euros from the Norwegian company Hydro on behalf of the Ormen Lange license group.
The contract comprises sea floor excavation and removal of hard soils in the pipeline and umbilical routes in the rough terrain between the Ormen Lange field and Nyhamna in Mid-Norway. The work will be undertaken by a new-developed remotely operated system for excavation in steep slopes and hard soils in the Storegga Slide area. The contract period will be for 2004 and 2005 with options for local trenching of lines after pipeline installation in 2006 and 2007.
